Amie Amis takes the French horn to the land of rock and good times. Alternating sparkling frontgirl vocals with hot licks on French horn, guitar, saxophone, and trumpet, the band plays a range from French hip-hop to gypsy-swing, beat to Portuguese scat with fast pace and pervasive wit. The crowd is engaged by the 7-piece band's rich, deep sound and is captivated with Amie's blithesome character and catchy music and lyrics.

Amie Amis, French hornist and vocalist formed her band, Amie Amis in New York City, 2006. Starting out in New York as a union musician playing in Broadway pits and recording sessions, and fresh from earning a Masters in Music from University of Miami, Amie realized that she would rather be expressing her zest for music on the stage, than under it. She formed her band with fellow professionals and friends, Mike Irwin (trumpet), Nick Kadajski (Alto sax), Kevin Russell (Soprano sax), Brad Maestas (bass), Ryan Cavan (drums), and Ben Cassorla (guitar). Since forming, Amie Amis has performed at some of New York's favorite rock venues, such as CBGB's, Pianos, Kenny's Castaways and Desmond's. All members have high professional profiles outside of Amie Amis. They play with countless artists and esteemed ensembles such as Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall, with the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and Amie, herself, with Jay-Z; and at such venues as Radio City, Birdland and the Knitting Factory. Amie writes and arranges the pieces for the six other terrific musicians who find the music a playful change from the usual. Her debut CD is scheduled for release in April, 2007.
