Amie hails from L.A., was schooled in Boulder and UNC, and took a Master's Degree in French horn performance from the University of Miami. She feels great indebtedness to teachers she met along this path - Tom Horst, Jack Herrick, Jonathan Bellman, Andy Lewinter, Jerry Peel, and Vincent Chancey. She now lives in New York, as a freelance hornist of many styles.
Musical influences include: Bjork, Bow Wow Wow, Stereolab, Miles Davis, Cibo Matto, Charles Mingus, Gertrude Lawrence, and oh so many others.
